Born in 1975 in Ağrı, Ruken Aslan graduated from the French High School, Notre Dame de Sion in Istanbul. After she had her BA degree in Painting Department of Fine Arts Faculty in Mimar Sinan University, she resumed her studies in Hacettepe University by submitting her MA thesis titled “Reality in Abstract Painting” . She obtained her PhD degree with her thesis titled “Romantic Attitude in Plastic Arts” in Fine Arts Institute of Marmara University in 2007. Her work has been exhibited in two solo and several group exhibitions and many of her paintings are part of various collections.  She is currently working as Assistant Professor in Painting Department of Fine Arts Faculty in Trakya University.
